North East based children’s charity, NE Youth, raised a staggering £83,000 at their recent Clay Pigeon Shoot weekend.
The weekend of events, which was sponsored by Northern property firm, Bradley Hall, housebuilder Story Homes and pubs with rooms co The Inn Collection Group, saw guests enjoy two days of shooting at the picturesque Hulne Priory in Northumberland. The annual event combines shooting with lunches, as well as auctions and raffles, all in a bid to raise money for children in the region.
Neil Hart, Chief Executive of Bradley Hall, commented on the money raised: “We have been supporters of NE Youth for a number of years through our annual Festive Fundraiser and charity events throughout the year so it was a pleasure to attend their recent shoot weekend and host a table of guests.
“£83,000 is a fantastic amount of money raised and will go so far in supporting children in the region.”
The weekend, which took place on the 14th and 16th of June, consisted of a corporate shoot on Friday and the John Shallcross Memorial Shoot on Sunday. John was a constant supporter of the charity and raised hundreds of thousands of pounds over decades of fundraising. Both events were full, with hundreds of guests attending to support the charity.
NE Youth began life over 70 years ago as Newcastle Boys Club and has developed into supporting disadvantaged young people throughout the North East to realise their potential. The charity hosts weekly youth groups, activity days, and funds youth workers who work with children and young people to develop their confidence and life skills.
The two-day event is one of many across the charity’s events calendar each year and was sponsored and supported by a range of businesses including Story Homes, Perspective Financial Group, The Inn Collection Group, Northumberland Estates, Lindisfarne Homes, Bywell Shooting Ground, Ward Hadaway, R Thornton & Co. and Bradley Hall.
Bradley Hall, which has offices in Alnwick, Morpeth, Gosforth, Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham, Tees Valley and Leeds, attends and supports charity, community and sporting events throughout the year, and has raised over £360,000 over the last seven years.
Bradley Hall has partnered with Northern publication Portfolio North to once again host their annual Festive Fundraiser to be held at The Fed in Gateshead in December. The event will support NE Youth as well as Heel & Toe, Great North Children’s Hospital Charity and Bravehearts and last year raised over £55,000 for local charities.
